I posted this as a response to a thread in the off road lounge, but I figured that some other members of the Forum might like to hear why the radio in my car is ALWAYS turned off. You might want to turn your speakers up a notch. :D

Anybody interested in a guess as to what's under this un-assuming small block hood. You might be surprised. :_rock

sounds a lot like mine does with my sidepipes also so I'll guess it's the 327/365. It sounds like you have a slightly wilder cam in it though maybe??

no matter what you do have in it, your car looks and sounds great!
:)

as soon as mine comes back from the paint shop I'm going to try to take a video of it also and post it but I think I'll need someone to host the vid for me.

Hosting

Barry,

I will let it go a day or so before going public on the engine, but this reply is for something else I would like to address. Almost every ISP I know, usually has an allocation for your own personal space on their server. Usually they will allocate about 10 megs, that you can use for your own little web page, or to host your own pictures, and video.

If I were you I would get in touch with them and inquire about the above. If I am correct, they should confirm the total allocated space, and supply you with an address, and password you may use to access the server. It's Worth a try, you are already paying for their services.

regards
Bob

Thanks for your kind words on my car, I just completed the performance upgrade a few days ago, and this shot is it's first sortie, before heading to the alignment shop.

I have comcast cable as my ISP. They do offer a free personal webpage option but if I read through their info correctly you only get one "page". I actually want to set up a site that's a bit more detailed than a single page so i'm looking for a good place that host webpages that isn't too expensive but that I can set up along the lines that Larry (IH2lose), Ray(61Silver), Bob(67Heaven), etc have done.

In the meantime, perhaps I can set up my Comcast page just as a temporary place to post stuff up until I can figure out a better alternative. I'll have to look into it a little more

So is the stealth ram up and running and under a small block hood?

Barry try www.1and1.com I just signed up for a home package, now all I have to do is learn how to use it.;LOL

As they say " you only wish " .

If it was, it would most certainly make my day. Sadely we will have to wait a little longer for that one. :cool

Hi Bossvette
thanks for the link, i'll look it over.
I will need to learn how to use it also!

Thats the first time I have seen your car. WOW its sharp I love the colour combo and the wheels. The car also sounds real "NASTY" (in a good way)
Thanks for sharing

Thanks for your kind words. The part I am most proud of is not seen in the video, so I am including a shot of it with this response

Lately, I have been noticed that when I am at a stop light, some drivers with whom I share the road, look rather intimidated when they hear the sound, but hey, maby I'm just reading it wrong. Sure is fun though :L

Very nice interior stepinwolf, I like the red/white combination.

Your engine sounds a lot like mine (383 with 480hp/510lbs torque) = sweet music to the ears.

OK Bob, it's been just over 24hours, lets find out what's under that hood making that beautiful sound!

Barry,

I have Comcast as well and have been able to get my web page with a ton documents and picture on it with no problem. It appears that you can set up 25 mb per email address. I have all of the email addresses set up, though I don't use them and have a ton of space.

Hi Bob

on the comcast pages, can you have more than just a single page? For example, can I set it up so that the main page is like a home page and links from that main page takes you to other pages? Such as pages for info on the car, another page or pages for pictures as I choose to sort and organize them, other pages for other things, etc?

Barry, you were right on

I think the above message was for me, so I will respond to Barry's question regarding the engine in this car.

Contrary to what most people think, I am still using a small block in the Corvette. It is a 327/365 that has had the heads slightly massaged, and it is running a killer, roller cam. Other then that, it's basically in it's stock configuration except for the + 30 mil during the rebuild.

The engine is however 100% period, and numbers correct, including all it's components ( with the exception of the MC ) , so here is a pic that is not often seen by most.

I have the original numbers matching 327/365 with sidepipes on my car also but yours sounds a bunch wilder with that cam you have!

I see you have AC on your car but your interior pic shows it as a factory non-AC car. What aftermarket AC are you using? Vintage Air, classic Auto AC, etc?
I'm very interested in having a system put in my car at some point as it gets WAY too hot inside the coupe on those hot August days. I think I must lose 10lbs from sweat on some days during driving! Of course, when I look at the scale anymore maybe that's not such a bad thing........;LOL

the engine compartment looks great.

I saw on the other site that you have a BB 502 you are going to drop in. are you going to keep and store this original motor?

Excellent pics of your car. It's easy to tell there's a lot of time and care invested to look that good. Thank you so much for giving us a look, it's always such a pleasure to appreciate these pics and to see these cars in such fantastic shape. Enjoy your cruisin now that the better weather is here.

Thanks once again for your kind words. To start with, this car is set up with the AC system from " Vintage " however I will no longer be using this manufacturer for AC systems in my Corvettes. The following installations that I will be doing will be with the AC system from " Classic Air " in Florida. They are much better built, better engineering, easier to install, and much less intrusive in the car.

Funny that you mention how uncomfortable it get's with these cars , because it brings something else to mind. We would not use our everyday vehicles, if the AC was not working, yet we spend tens, if not hundreds of thousands on these toys, that actually get very little use ( compared to everyday rides ) and yet we are ready to endure the discomfort of driving without air.

NO MORE, never will I build another one of these cars without air conditioning, and if it wasn't factory, ta h-ll with that, it's gonna be :L

The Ram Jet 502, along with a brand new 5 speed Tremec, will be going into my next project ( a 63 split window ) which is being built as a retro rod. check the following link for a few pics

thanks for the info on the AC. It's one of my priority items to do to my car as soon as the budget allows. My car is completely #'s matching original motor and most componets but adding an aftermarket AC is one transgression to non-stock I'll gladly allow on the car for my pleasure of enjoying the car more (same as my sidepipes which i suspect were added later and not factory installed). If you can't enjoy your time in the car, which as you say is limited enough, than why have the car to begin with? Can you PM me with additional info on the AC sysyems and why you prefer the Classic Air over Vintage? I'm open to what's best but have heard more about the Vintage.

That's a beautiful looking BB502 you have waiting. I see from your join date by your name you haven't been in CAC too long but you may already have gathered that I'm a first time corvette owner for only a year now and one that knows not one thing whatsoever about working on my own car although I'd like very much to learn. At least to be able to do simple maintance and repairs. When I see the number of people on here that know how to do pretty much everything to their cars and do it so well and correctly and not just "bubba'd up" but also to the degree that some on here can do like completely build a car from scratch it boggles my mind.
When I see all these 502 motors such as yours, Bob's( 67Heaven's), Marks, and others on here it makes me really want to buy another car (NOM) and redo it and drop one of those beauties in it!
H*ll, I'll be happy to just learn how to change my oil and sparkplugs without breaking something ;LOL but at least seeing all of the great cars and projects on here gives us other folks some motivation to want to learn how to do SOMETHING, even if it's only a small something and be able to enjoy working on our own cars also.

I hope you keep the pictures coming on that '63 project for us all to enjoy.

Just hit your website.......wow, those cars looked very nice! If that's all your own work on those cars I see you should fit in very well here on CAC.

Bob,

The car looks fantastic. The retro modifications and wheels make the car look fantastic +++++++. I love the video and that awesome sound from those pipes. The "General" certainly had a great idea when he thought of mid years and then made it better with the addition of side pipes. You have taken this a couple of steps further by making your car even better. Thumbs up...Great car, enjoy your summer driving and I can't wait to see your car again. Steve
