O/S door weatherstripping info

Good Morning, All!
Since I'm new to 'Vette ownership, I'm busy replacing unserviceable parts. I need to install the LS and RS outer door weatherstrips (GM # 10245645/6). The new ones have spring clips to attach inside the door frame. The present ones appear to have been pop riveted on. Can anyone help and save me time and unnecessary removal of other door parts to change these?

Welcome rch105,


There are three rivets holding the outer seal on plus a bunch of toothed spring clips.

First carefully drill out the old rivets, your new molding should have come with new rivets. then I used a door window handle remover tool to help pull the clips up, they are tough, but take your time and they will come off easy.

Then just position and push the new one on and pop rivet in place.

I had my door panel off already because I was refinnishing it, so I'm not sure if it can be done without removing.

I will check that to night.

the are clipped and rivited on. went to body shop to check the progress of the repaint
got some pics but not of the door seal are will get some next time, but am almost
positive the door must be dismantled
