I'm no NCRS expert, but just on recollection, I'm thinking the tube was natural pot metal and the dipstick was stainless . . . we only had L-48's on our 4 C-3's . .I think the 78 Silver Anniv tube was that funky blue to match the engine ?? On the Chevy orange engines, I think I painted the dipstick tube the same color as the engine - -whatever Nationwise Auto Parts had that approximated Chevy Orange (and was on sale)
