Changed my oil a couple of weeks ago. Today I noticed a
slow but constant drip. :ugh The plug didn't seem to get tighter as
I slowly turned, but the drips became faster.; shrug I then noticed that
the plug kind of wiggled in the pan threading. :confused QUESTION: If
there are "worn" threads, is there a fix? Or which is the more
likely to have to replace — Oil Plug or Pan? :W

Pull the drain plug and look at the plug threads.
My bet is the pan threads are worn.
You can drill and tap new threads or buy a new pan, but either way, if it is due to the pan threads, the pan will need to be pulled.

FWIW, there was a rubber expansion plug on the market a few years ago. If so it's a way to fix the drip if you don't want to replace the pan, but as noted, if the pan threads are wornout all you can do is replace the pan.

Nah, Dorman and others makes over sized Oil Plugs!!:thumb Drill it,Tap it,and pour a a gallon of diesel fuel through it to wash any shavings out!! Then install the over sized plug!!:thumb:thumb:thumb

PS. Don't get a self tapper,I've seen them get stuck and tear the nut loose from the pan!!:hb:hb:hb

After contemplating how to handle the above situation, I had a
brainstorm. I would drain the oil (only 3 weeks old), check out the
plug and pan. Those threads near the bolt head that allow for tightening were worn as a result of the trainees used at the Chevy dealer that changed the oil 3 changes ago, over-tightening the bolt, causing the "wiggle" and not being able to tighten. So I decided to double up on the metal washers. Hence, no wiggle and no drip as of yet. So I'm going to give myself a thumbs up. :thumb Incidentally, changing the oil has got to be the messiest job. WOW! :W
