oil pressure sender

Hi guys,
Is there room for a stupid question here? Hope so cuz it's all I've got:)

The pressure gauge on my 81 is cosistently pegged. I've looked at the archives and under the hood. Too much oily wiring to spot an orange wire in that mess.

Is the oil pressure gauge sender unit a two connection plug on the right rear bank just above and between the third and fourth plug? If that's not the oil pressure sender, what is it? Where is the sender unit?

Thanx in advance...

The OP sending unit should be below the distributor on the left side. The sender you found is most likely a coolant temp sensor for either the gauge or ECM.

Yow! Thanx!

Found it and reconnected it already. Much appreciated.

The gauge reads zero instead of pegged now but I'll deal with that later.

Again, Thanx...

Actually, it was your thread that got me motivated:) I started looking for the orange wire. Sadly ALL of mine are black but we found it in the end.

Thanx for the link and thanx for the motivation. And LLC5, thanx for the point of search.

This Forum is awesome:D

Glad it helped.
