Can anyone tell me what the oil pressure should be on 1995 LT1. Thinking of purchasing 1995 Corvette. The oil pressure only hits the first line of the gauge. Seem kind of low.

Seems kinda low!

With my 92 and my previous 96, the gauge showed over half way at start up cold. The pressure would increase some with RPM. After fully warmed, my 92 and my previous 96 would show just below half on the gauge at idle and then rise over half to the 3/4, or third mark, with RPM.

The only time I have seen an LT1 or LT4 with oil pressure indication this low is when it had coolant in the oil and had ruined the bearings. That's my experience.

I suppose there could be something wrong with the gauge which could be easy to fix.

Check the tail pipes for water vapor after it's fully warmed up. Check the coolant level. Ask about "low coolant" lights. Feel the oil on the dip stick.

If you continue to have concerns about this car, find another.

BTW, welcome to the CAC.

When you crank the car, it should jump to the mid 50's idling, and a hot idle will be in the high 20's-low 30s.

When cruising around, anytime your foot is on the gas it needs to be over 50psi, and at full throttle it really needs to be about 60.

My bros 86 when started cold gets close to 80 at idle. After it warms up and cruising when the oil temp is at 200 he gets about 55, at idle it is about 45-40. When you get into it it goes up into the lower 70's.
