Oil temp sensor?

I was wondering were would the oil temp sensor be on an '86? Also, after putting in my new radiator I noticed that the coolant gauge on the dash starts reading lower than before. {before I would get the L0 up until about 150 or so now it will start reading at about 100 degrees} I don't get a reading {only L0} until about 150 or so on the oil temp gauge. I am still trying to track down my hard start and richness until warmup. At what temp does your oil start to go from the L0 reading in the dash to a number in degrees? Thanks!

i know the sensor for the water temp gauge is on the pass side of engine block just forward of #8 spark plug. i had the vette running and unplugged it and the temp gauge went out.
not real sure about oil temp, i think either near the oil filter?
but those don't have anything to do with how your vette is running, those are just for the dash gauges.

If you have the optional oil cooler the temp sensor should be just above the oil filter, it should have three wires and be a small "D" shaped plug. The same part number is used for the coolant temp sensor located just under the TB on the intake manifold that feeds the ECM. These are variable thermistors and can be working fine in one range but be off in another, thus throwing the ECM bogus data and you end up with a poor running car while the sensor is in the "bad" range. I don't think the oil sensor feeds the ECM, just the guage but I could be wrong.
