One To Four Shift

This has probably been discussed before, but I haven't seen the responses. Why does the Corvette have a ONE TO FOUR SHIFT? How come - as far as I know - no other sports car does?

I don't have one, but I know that it's for fuel economy. There is a product out there that will eliminate that 1-4 shift though. I don't think it's very expensive either.

1-4 shift

It was for the fuel economy. I got mine "programed" out. Great improvement in driveability!

Fuel economy. Basically to lower Chevrolets average corporate fuel mileage as dictated by the EPA I believe. Just unplug the connector on the transmission and tape the end to keep dirt out of it and one to four goes away or shift at 2,000 rpm into second all the time. I chose to have it programed out when I had the custom prom chip burned. Good luck 84 CF 91 ZR-1
