Original '68 Vette owner seeks current owner

I was original owner of a blue 1968 Corvette convertible.. I bought the car in NJ at Malcolm Conner Chevrolet. I was 19 years old at the time. Cost me a bit over $4000.00. Thanks to the Vietnam thing I was forced to part company with the vette. I have the original corvette owners card. Name on it William C. Auffarth Serial # 194678S 409308 Key # ON86 . Somewhere, I have a pic and the original sales contract. I would like to reunite these articles with the car if the car is still alive and well. Any help in doing this would be appreciated. I wish it would be my car.
I am interested to find previous owners of my eraly 68 convert as well, but I can't even locate the last owner in the states who sold it to Europe.
This was a guy in Maine, I have his name and address, but no way I can contact him anymore.
This all happened in 1991 and he seems to have moved in the mean time.
It's so difficult to follow up from over here in Europe.
