Any tips?...do I need High Temp Primer and Paint?

The factory just shot cheap enamel on bare steel, but I prime first, then paint - stays looking like new.

I spray them with the same engine paint I use on the block. Use a good self etching primer. Spray can is ok.

I just did mine today.
shot 3 coats of primer on the oil pan than tomorrow paint the entire motor.
I was told you don't need hi-temp primer on the oil pan as it doesn't get as hot as the rest of the engine block? I hope that's true because I didn't use a hi-temp primer, just a regular primer.
