its time to get my 88' painted. i want to paint the targa top the same colour as the car. ive been to 3 paint shops and 2 say the targa top cant be painted and one says it can.

my question, can it be painted? [ i like the way the top on the z06's match the colour of the body] <--- thats were i got the idea of painting my targa top from.

Just for your FYI!
In Southern , CA. I paid $3800.00 for a complete repaint.
And that was like 3 years ago.
Suppose its more now.
You get what you pay for.
Mine looks great.
Glad I did it this way.
Just my 55 cent's.
Good Luck
tony

Tony, it is more costly now. Three or four will get you a decent paint job, but for something really good (the job, not the artwork) you'll pay upwards of five. ;)

The top most certainly can be painted. If I were you I'd keep shopping for another painter. ;)

Oops, I missed that comment about the top being glass, as in acrylic. That being the case, I don't know. Probably not. ;shrug

the top is arcylic. thats why i couldnt understand when i was told it coudn't be painted. thak u for the info

Get a solid top from one of the Corvette recyclers such as Vette2Vette or Michigan Corvette Recyclers. Then have it painted to match. Just my 2 pennies.
