My 1988 red C4 has great paint except for the edge that runs along the body on both sides just underneath the doors. You cannot see this edge when you are up close to the car, but from a few feet away, the missing/chipped away paint is an eyesore. How would you approach this problem? I think the color of my '88 is Bright Red. I could perhaps buy some touch up paint and brush it on or perhaps buy the touch up spray, tape off all areas around the edges, and paint. Or I could just ignore it. Does anyone else have this problem? What did you do about it? Thanks for your help and time. It is appreciated!

Sounds like I have a clone of yours, a bright red 88. And like you my paint is excellent except for under the doors. I don't have many rock chips but do have a lot of road tar. After trying everything short of dynamite I just decided to do the best I could and just ignore what I couldn't get off. The only way you see it is if you are underneath the car and it's not noticeable from a few feet away. So do what you feel is right for you but for me I just took the "ignore" route.
