After searching the board for a thread on this problem, I found nothing that was was close. The parking lights on my '72 will not turn off. I am at a loss as I do not have a wiring diagram. Is this a switch problem? Does the switch operate a relay? Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Mike

hello, define not turn off. is it when the key is on and the lamps stay on then? or are they on all the time and you have to 'pull' the fuse to get them off?
either one of those situations indicate a shorted wire in the lamp circuit

No relays - the parking lights get their power directly from the light switch through a 20-ga. brown wire; probably a bad light switch.

I finally got hold of a shop manual that has the wiring diagrams. I traced all the wires down on the diagrams and found that to be true. After that, I thought the same thing, bad switch. Thanks for the help.
