This has been happening since before winter. Now that I am getting some compensation for the accident I was in (with the beater Escort) I will want to get it fixed this spring. It is either the motor, or the gears. I am pretty sure it is the gears. It makes a loud noise almost like a screech when the window goes up or down, and it moves significantly slower then the other one. Any suggestions on how much this will cost me?

Was the door hit in the accident? The window could be rubbing against the structural tube that runs through the middle of the door.

Is the window scratched? If so the problem could be a misalignment of the anti-rattle pads.

I bought a complete door in the correct color on eBay for less than the price of a window regulator and it was one heck of a lot easier to install.
:w

No the Escort was rear ended. There has been no damage to the passenger side of the door on my vette that I know of. I have not really looked to see if the window is scratched up or not. I have a feeling I will be without the use of that window for a while. :L
