My "New" '96 Coupe

Picked up my "new" '96 Coupe in Marietta, GA, with 51K on the clock. Drove it home to Tampa Bay, FL... 7-Hours, no issues! My last Corvette was a '75 L82 Convertible which I sold in 1982. So, my current ride was a long time coming!

Just joined the forum. Just got this home the day after Christmas. Nice present from my wife. It just needs a little TLC.

This was my '85 purchased new in Rochester NY, it had all options including the Doug Nash 4+3. I worked for Rochester Products at the time and they helped me get it to run perfectly by supplying me with experimental EPROMs. Still think the BOSE stereo in that Vette was the best sounding of all my cars including my last two Cadillacs.

I have a 90 and 08, both with Bose Premium Sound. The 08 does sound better than the 90 in my case. Ive actually replaced all 4 speaker sound amps in the 90 and it made a big difference (they need to be replaced in pairs, as when one goes, the other is unbalanced and goes bad quickly there after). The 90 sounds good when cranked up, but not so much on the lower levels. The 08 sounds great at all levels. Sometimes I just sit in the garage and play music for a while. I use an Apple iPhone connected to a radio receiver, rarely use the CD player and never the satellite. It also came with an older style iPod adapter that I dont use.

Here is my '89 coupe. I've had it two years now and it has 47k miles. Z51, leather (Black/Black). 6spd, glass and solid top, Z06 style and stock wheels. Bought it with all the records and have all the brochures for the year. Great driver. Earned 1st at the Big Bear Bash car show last month in the C4 Modified class and a second flight at the SoCal NCRS judging meet.

It has a lot of miles on it, 186,000 miles! It is in amazing shape! I was quite surprised to find a wad of butyl rubber in the light pocket for the check engine light. Of course, it was on and there were 3 codes, something to do with the maf, a converter issue and a evap system leak. Ive fixed them all and now all is well. It runs great and carries great oil pressure. This is my first Corvette, I sold off my '84 Monte Carlo SS that had a 600 HP big block in it to finance the Corvette. I put a set of C5 wheels on it, I like the new look.
