PKE problems

OK anyone know how to preform an exercism on a vette! I think the thing is haunted! I have read all of the discussions on the fob and went over all the suggestions - not the one about throwing it out the window, getting it and throwing it again - and tonight when I went out it went crazy. It ran perfect for awhile the the interior lights started going on and off and the doors were trying to lock and unlock. I opened and shut the driver door and it stopped for a while, but started back.
I first thought it was when I hit a bump, up it happens at times when the road is smooth, I hit my elbow on the door panel and the lights came on and off so I thought it may be the door sensor? It is like a circus ride in the car,lights flashing on and off doors clicking. When I go through centain areas in the neighborhood, where cell phone can not get signals, the lights seem to flicker....I am really at a loss with going over all the troubleshooting. There is could be so many possiblities.Please help with some suggestions. At my witts

You've got a bad ground connection somewhere. There are a lot of ground wires that connect to the engine at the bolts for the bellhousing. These bolts are hard to get to. Has there been any work done on the car recently that may have left some bolts loose or broken some ground wires?
Turn on your headlights and then crank the engine. Do the lights dim when you start the engine? Check to be sure your battery cable connections are clean and tight. Check the black (negative) battery cable where it connects to the engine block.
Leave the interior lights on while you're checking for loose connections. If you see the lights flicker, you may be on the right track!

Today we had a great day driving around in the vette. I followed instructions
and deactivated the fob and we did not have any problems until we drove through a specific area where I know that there is conflicting signals because cell phone can not get out and the interior lights blinked on and off the the doors tried to lock? This was not as bad as the night before, but it still happened. That lead me believe that it is not a short or ground connection.
Possibly a satellite or signal jam? Is the antennas in the DOOR picking up signals matching the fobs?

THANK YOU CHEVROLET!!! Your's, krh, is just one more tale in the naked city. I won't bore you with my own PKE horrors. My current one is working fine (knock wood, fingers crossed, pray, see my rabbit's foot, horseshoe is nailed to garage eave, yadda, yadda, yadda...). I suggest a new PKE. If not, just use your key.
It is cool to have the doors snick and unsnick (when it works). But I've gotten so, that I lay the keys in a safe place when I walk away from the car, walk back to the car and check to make sure the doors are really locked.
Somewhere in your Vette's wiring, there's a bad connection. It's either a loose wire, wires touching where the insulation has worn away or crossed wires.

It sounds like one of your door ajar sensors is out of adjustment. The PKE incorrectly thinks the door is open (or closed) and cycles the interior lights and perhaps the door locks too.
Check the 'Search' tab above on the subjects of PKE as well as door sensors; there are a lot of threads and good advice.

Sounds like a door ajar switch to me also.

The center pin in the switch on the door may be out of adjustment. It pulls out and then 'self adjusts' when the door is shut. After a few years, these things stop self-adjusting and just go all the way in. I used a very small o-ring on one of mine to make the center pin stay out farther. Cured my bugs with the interior lights popping on when I hit bumps, etc.
