Is the starter relay the cigarette size box behind the info center? that's what I have clicking?

Ok guys, It started!! THANK YOU ALL!!

I performed all the tests. For future reference. I jumped the clutch switch and the relay as instructed, ( seperate tasks) it did not crank either time, I took a starter relay out of a friends VETTE and it still didn't start. jumped the clutch switch again it started right up, put the old relay in without touching the jump wire and it did not start, put the borrowed relay in again leaving the clutch switch jumped and it started right up, tried it a dozen times started up every time. Therefore....I need a new clutch switch and a relay. I will get a new relay tomorrow


Does anyone know if I can jump the clutch switch out, long term, It seems to be a pain in ___ to get to, I don't mind not having one as long as it will not impact anything else.

Cut the lines

On the OLD clutch switch side CUT THE LINES ( do not mess with the factory side of the harness)... splice the two lines together..... SOLDER IT !

Then later get a NEW switch... remember once those wires are JUMPED ( Bypassed) the car will start in gear!!!!!!!

Ouch.....that stung a little bit. Oops, I think my nose is bleeding, I did not see that one coming:L

I love it when I am wrong, and the solution is much less severe than I thought

I noticed this last weekend that the 90 Vette acted like I had to really press the clutch pedal further down than normal (I mean like on the floor) for the neutral safety switch to engage. I went back and re-read this because I was thinking I was heading in this direction.

Glad it is up and running. Plus, it would be kinda hard to sell if it would not start.

Those switchs are a BEAR to get to..... ME I would just by bypass it. ( But I've been known to be lazy at times)
