After running a search on this I've read up a bit but feel I need some more information prior to me trying my luck.

I have some minor scratches in the door glass that I'd really like to get rid of. It's the original Astro ventilation glass that came with my car a whopping 34 years ago and I'd like to preserve it.

I've heard and read that minor scratches can be polished out with some tool/adapter that typically attaches to a drill. My questions are:

How easy is it to work with this tool?
Where can I get one (links please)?
Are there several models, some better than others?
Can anyone with experience provide some tips or advice?
Has anyone used this and shattered their glass?
Anyone have links to more technical info?
Would you recommend I leave it to the pros and bring my car in to a specialized glass place?
Should I even be bothering?

Any and all advice would be great. Thanks.

Im not sure exactly what your talking about but eastwood sells a kit that sounds like what your describing. It didnt work well for me at all.I would see if you can find a pro to do it.Also I think the "rule of thumb "is if you can feel the scratch with your fingernail ,it cant be polished.
