OUT!! But make sure you don't park to close to the curb or you'll be sorry.

Am looking at some official GM phots of the C3s. A few pics of '68 had NOTHING; '69, '70, & '71 had White-Walls :duh ; '72 & '73 had 'Letters'; '74 had White-Walls; and ALL other C3s have 'Letters'. of course, these are ONLY a few pictures from the era. IMHO, Rally Wheels 'need' Letters, while the N90 aluminum wheels from mid-'70s thru '82 look good with, or without.

White letters definately out. Gotta be out. As long as you keep the factory ralleys the white letters look better out. If you have some aftermarket wheels, depending on what size they are, look better with the black walls.

Letters in or out?

I vote for BLACKWALL , not letters IN.

Two reasons:

1. Special care is needed to clean and "tire gel" the tires around the letters, trying not to smudge and stain the white.
(needless extra work)
2. After time the letters themselves yellow, which looks worse than solid blackwalls.

When I bought a set of Coopers for my C3, I had to pay 10%MORE for blackwalls, well worth it for cleaning and treating.

IMHO - White letters out, look great. If you want them, get them.
Blackwalls also look good, if you want them, get them.
But don't get White Lettered, and turn them in,
that's just Redneck and Hillbilly.

Out ... but I like them, so I would get them anyway ...

Do i need to say OUT OUT OUT that is the way to go no Qustion.

Late, Chuck

Minority vote.

Hide those letters!!!

It looks cleaner.

White Letters OUT!

If you want blackwall out then get blackwall tires that are black on both sides. They maybe somewhat hard to find nowdays.

Well, it pretty much seems unanimous. White Letters showing!

True, but I've found a prety easy way to keep the white walls/letters white. Use Wesley's Bleach White, spray it on, and get a hard-bristle scrub brush with about a 2" diameter scrubbing area. Scrub the letters, then hose it off right after. Maaaybe repeat twice.

And yes, when you apply the tire cleaner to the blackwalls, it can smudge on the white wall, so a little more attention is needed, but if you spray the tire cleaner on a rag first, then wipe down the wheels and work around the letters, it's not that difficult. To me, it's worth the extra time. I mean, c'mon...it's your VETTE! Baby it! Isn't your vette worth a little extra effort???

Here's a link to a pic of my wheels & rims I'm currently selling. You can see how white the letters get. I didn't touch-up the color either.

I had my white letters in & I just turned them out - I have a white vette & they look better out ...

Looks like you should be able to get the idea already, but I'll put in my 2 cents. OUT!
