Posting For Ron Smith's Stolen Vette

I got together with Ron and we came up with this to try and find his 70 Vette. Please help me spread this video around the world and get this ride back. Post the link anywhere you can and send it to everyone you know. If this makes it to enough people we could actually make this work. Who knows, this could be the beginning of an 'America's Most Wanted' type thing for our rides. Lets help this man out by doing what we can. We can do this.
Also, please rate it high on You Tube to try and get it moved up to a feature video.

I believe your video is on the homepage of VetteTube right now. Hopefully, it will be some help.
 
Just a thought: Why not send this video to FoxNews...maybe to Shepard Smith. If a enough people emailed this to him, maybe he'll take notice and do a story. Afterall, a Work of Art was stolen from Ron--not to mention a piece of our hearts, if you think about it.

Is there any news on this vette? I have wondered if any one came up with anything.
 
The last time I heard from Ron he did tell me some really promising news but I felt that posting it on the net might jeopardize something, since the news he told me he got seems to have started with the PD phone number we put in the video.
Also, the last time I talked with him he was going to be 'out of touch' for a while. And I say it like that because it was of a personal matter, and I don't really know him to make that public.
But I've been getting kinda concerned too. I'll see if I can get in touch with him and see what's up.
 
that may be the saddest god damn video i have ever seen! :ugh...... i just hope whoever took it treats it with respect so when he does get it back its not a continuation of his nightmare...... give me 5 minutes in a room with the thief with a copy of the yellow book and i bet he will think twice next time...scumbag!!
 
I had Ron's phone number in my cell but for some reason it's not there anymore. I sent him an e-mail a while ago trying to see if he's heard anything, and also let him know a lot of people have been asking on the forums. Hopefully we'll here from him soon.
I don't know much about Ron other than it was great talking with him on the phone and that he's a disabled Veteran. I really hope we hear something soon. If I do I will let everyone know and I'll also ask if it's OK to share what he's filled me in on so far.

Thanks for your support to him in this matter. I'm a huge supporter of our Veterans under any circumstances and it really pissed me off that this happened to him. Hopefully if we've done nothing else together as a forum group we've at least lifted his spirits.
 
I've been hoping that law enforcement wouldve gotten some leads by now with the youtube/vettetube exposure. Hope the a-holes are caught & the vette survives.:thumb
 
Got this reply back from Ron today:

Hey Donnie,
Sorry I didn't send you an update. The surgery on my neck took longer that I thought to recover.
The last time I spoke to the detective, he said that they were following a lead that had the car going to San Francisco where they thought it was going to be parted out. I tried to reach the detective two weeks ago but I haven't heard from him. I now fear that my beautiful corvette is gone for ever, It pains me to say that since I've always been "a glass half full" person. The insurance claim is on hold until I tell them to go ahead with
it. I think that I will never get over this violation. It's something I have never experienced before and I would not wish this on anyone.

I am very grateful for all you have done. Along with all the vette owners who sent me emails of encouragement. This would have been far more difficult to withstand without that support. I now look for justice to be served. Those wheels do turn slowly and it is proving more consuming that I ever thought possible. .

I posted it on the Corvette Forum, C3 Vette Forum and tyried to post on Smokinvette.
Smokinvette was the only Forum that would NOT let me post.
 
Smokenvette would not let my put the youtube information in the post. Without it
there is no point to post.
 
Got an e-mail from Ron. He said he talked to the Sheriff's office onthe 9th. and they said they had info that the Vette had been seen in the last couple of weeks and that it was still whole.
If everyone could will you please re-pass the video. It just might help, and would make for a killer Christmas present.
