Help! Power seat electrical connector

I am trying to replace the carpet in my 1985 vette and have taken the two seats out of the car. The seat rail on the driver seat has the power connection under the seat. I have tried everything I can think of to disconnect the connector but have failed. Maybe after 30 years it just doesn't come apart anymore or there is some trick to separating them that I am not aware of. Does anybody have any ideas? Thank You​
