The passenger side power seat in my 1992 Coupe is in the full back position and will not move forward. When I activate the switch to move forward, nothing, no movement, no noise. When I activate the switch to move the seat backward, it "buzzes". I can activate the up/down movements and they work fine.

Any opinions as to the problem, is it stuck in the back position? Is there a release switch to allow manual movement of the seat?

I would like to remove the seat, but it is so far back I can't get to the inside rear nut to remove it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Did you take out the seat cushion? the seat cushion comes out first then you should be able to get to the bolts that hold the frame down.

To remove the seat cushion, there is a wire "bail" in the front of the seat that you need to push down on the front of the seat cushion and push the bail back from where it hooks on the lower seat frame. Then just lift the cushion out. This should expose all the bolts that hold the frame in place.

I have my seats out and in the floor of the garage. Let me know if you need a picture of something you can't see. My seats are the sport seats from 1995 and may be different however. I just checked them out from the bottom and can't really see a way to move the seat without the motor.

My guess is that the seat rails or froze, or the motor or cable that drives the gear mechanism is frozen from age.

I would pull the seat cushion as mentioned above and go from there.

Also, no release exist that I can see.

Had this problem with the passenger seat; replaced the switch and everything works fine now. Have sport seats with the control switch next to the center console that selects between dirver and passenger seat. Driver's side worked okay. Check all of the suggestions above before buying the switch.

The " buzz" is what concerns me when he tries to move it. I would think the switch is working if the motor " buzzes ".

You could also test the switch with a multi-meeter to make sure all six contacts are good. It maybe that the electrical contact part of the switch that activates the motor to move the seat foward is worn out. :upthumbs

good point. He gets no " buzz" going forward.

My 96 CE had the same problem, heard buzzing but nothing would happen
When I put on my new seat covers and took off the Passenger side bottom cushion found the air hose was off, put it back on and everything works and no buzz

Not sure if this will help, but my passenger seat buzzes when I try to move it forward or back, however I noticed that if I raise the seat as high as it will go it will then move forward or back.

The prevoius owner had a bunch of crap stuffed under the seat and I think it knocked the motor off its mount. I haven't had a chance to really get in there and look at it.
