Power Steering leak

Excellent and thanks for the advice its good to know about past experiences before you do business. Just one more question before I order. I want to make sure I understand the differences
Rebuilt - Old core that is rebuilt
Remanufactured - same as rebuilt or different?

Thanks KOPBET, I called Classic Corvette's and talked to Mike he was real helpful and he has great prices. I mentioned the CAC and you to him and he was surprised and happy that the CAC recommended him. Thanks again I will let everyone know how it goes. I will be changing the hose's, valve and cylinder as soon as the parts get here. I went with a new valve and rebuilt cylinder.

Cool I did not know that, I will be up that way a couple time this summer and of course for the OU/TU football game in Sept.

Don't forget to clean out the power steering pump , there might be foreign matter in it that might get into your new parts.

One more question, what about power sterring fluid. What is the best should it me a "stop leak" fluid?

I have heard GMJunkie speak highly of the Lucas Stop leak fluid for older systems. But your system is essentially new now except for the pump.

I used Preston fluid with out stop leak. I have completed the replacement and it works great, took a lot of hammering and a bigger hammer than I had, (purchased a 4 pound hammer and that did the trick) but other than that it was not to tough a job.

Hi Paul,
I'm glad everything worked well for you. When we talked I didn't realize I was out of stock on rebuilt slave cylinders. I sent you a new one in its place. I'll get your core refund to you as soon as I recieve your old parts. Let me know if there is anything else I can do for you.
Thanks,
Mike

I appreciate it Mike everything is working good. I appreicate the fast service. Old parts on the way back tomorrow.

OK so whats the difference between a tie rod puller and a pickle fork, I guess I am showing my ingorance here but I though they were the same.

Like this or some variation of it .

Yeah that would have been a lot easier on the cylinder but not sure I could have gotten something like that on the valve. Oh well I will keep it in mind if I ever need it again.
One thing though the steering is a little harder when turning right than when left, its not bad going right but a little stiffer than going left, nothing is rubbing or binding and the wheels are centered no pulling when you let go of the steering wheel or anything just a little more pressure required turning right, could this just be the grease in the new valve having to getting loosened up. I have only driven it about 20 miles so far.
