Preserving Weather Stripping

I've seen several weather strip preserving products on the market. Can anybody suggest the best product to preserve stripping's softness and pliability?

I use Dielectric Tune-Up Grease a couple times a year...you can buy it in any auto parts store. Cheap

BMW produces a product called Gummi Phlege and it is excellent for weatherstripping. It's available through the parts counter at any BMW dealership, although if they don't typically carry it it will take a few days to come in on order.

It keeps the weatherstripping soft and pliable while imparting a nice/natural sheen. Great stuff!

Dupont weatherstrip saver Krytox been using it on my last
3 vettes. use very thin coat does the job have never
had to replace weather stripping Can get it from Eckler's

messed up windows

Just wheatherstripped my c-3.Now heres my question? I used to use this grease on the strips before,and it did the job ,but left a MESS on the inside edges of my windows that was crazy trying to get of and keep up with. Please help !!!

In repley to window mess Yeah your gonna get some
residue on the edges just use a good window cleaner
to remove. The trick to using this stuff is to use a
very small amount and work it in and wipe off excess
When you think about it it is a small price to pay in
labor better than cost of weather stripping replacement
I also use a product called "BACK TO BLACK" Maguire's
which seems to keep the weather stripping from drying
out and cracking. end of story... hope this helps out

good luck that's why I'm in Tampa rite now it is 78 and a bit
