trips and corvette club events

My Vetteless goals have shifted a number of times since mine said goodbye. Assuming my goal remains a C6, it will be a good weather driver. Work, trips, weekends, whatever - I'm gonna drive it.

I would say daily driver because it would just be too much fun to leave it at home and only use it on the weekends. :)

Mine will be used for road trips, Corvette shows, club events, but not as a daily driver...I'll save the door dings, rush hour madness, parking lot vandals, etc, for my daily driver...a 2004 GMC Envoy 4x4.

Zippy :) :)

.........................I hear ya.......I'm planning for a C6....If and when it will be a (sunny)weekend driver like my 92 vert......35 000 miles on it so far.I prefer my 00 Infinity QX4 for banging around the city.I don't like my corvette dusty and storage space is a tad larger in the SUV...:L ..................PS up here dealers aren't taking orders yet,you have to get on a "list"....no thanks I'll wait.....maybe a long time:( .......I just like to SEE what I am buying.Buying to be the first on the block isn't that important to me....YET!!!!!

Daily driver!

Call me stupid, but I'm getting rid of my Mercedes S500 when my C6 arrives--the Vette will become my daily driver. I've been lugging around a huge rear seat for the past four years (not mine, the Benz's), and I'm ready for something a bit leaner. I also have a Jaguar XK8 convertible--a '98 with 19,000 miles on it--but this is not a car I want to bang around in.

I've never owned a Vette before, but everything I've read on this site convinces me that it will be a great day-to-day ride.

Still, I have one question--will the Z51 suspension be a bit hard on the old tailbone for everyday driving? I live in Northern California, and the roads are pretty good (compared to the midwest), so I'm likely to go for the Z51 package.

If it's anything like the C5 Z51 package it will be quite comfortable. My neighbor had an '85 with Z51 and it was a harsh, tailbone grinding ride. The Z51 in our hardtop is very comfortable, though I'm not saying you won't feel any of the bumps. But it doesn't jar like the old suspension at all. I believe you will really enjoy the car when you get it.

Perhaps you may want to spend some time looking at late model C5's and maybe a test drive in a Z51 equipped car to get an idea of how the ride will be and if you like it. When looking at C5's the option sticker will be in the glove box. Just open it up and look for the Z51 RPO listed.

One question. Will it be coupe or vert? ;)

Anyone else? Lets see some more responses here! :)

I would have voted but you didn't have "winter beater" on the list........JUST KIDDING.:D

I'm waiting for C7. This will be a short (or a normal) run for C6. My C5 is lots of fun and very fast. The really new stuff is five years off.

The C5 was an 8 year run...that was considered short. The shortest by far for Vettes...but I'd be surprised to see the C6 run for less.

Actually, the mid years ran from 63-67 so they would be the shortest run.

Didn't GM say that the C6 would be a short run? But what do they consider a short run?

Daily Driver

My C6 will be a coupe, and be my daily driving car. We already have a sweet red 92' roadster with just shy to 10,000 miles...... We take her (Rosie....) out on beautiful weekends for long drives in the Hill country...... I can't order my C6 yet here in San Antonio, but I have money down on an allocation.

I have a question, I hope someone can help. I would like to order the Z51 package, but since I will be doing most of my driving here in San Antonio (lots of rough roads) I'm concerned about road noise. I would like a quiet environment to appreciate the great sound system, also to unwind on the way home from a long day at work. Does anyone know whether a car equipped with Z51 will ride as quiet as one equipped with MSR system?

Thanks....:cool
