Production Month???

Hi, my VIN is 1Z37J5S401294. I've tried to Google info on the production month with no luck. Can you give me a source to look at or tell me if you know.

It was built somewhere in mid-October, '74. Take the date from the trim tag and add a day or two to get a better idea.

I agree. The Corvette Black Book and the NCRS 1968-82 Corvette Specificaitons Guide list production months and ending serial numbers.

Birthplace of Legends by Peter Licastro is great reading and has a partial list of known strike dates at St. Louis.

No. 'early' or 'late' has nothing to do with when the car was built and everything to do with the date the specific parts changed from first design to second design within the model year. Some switch overs were within a week or two of the beginning, some right at the end.
