I set the body back on this morning and as suspected the Keisler transmission contacts the tunnel. Specifically, I found that it hits the dip in the tumel that accomidates the brackets for the console trim. This occurs only on the right side at the rear bracket. I ground this bump off and will reglass from the interior of the car. After the grind, the transmission was still too close to the floor for me so I am raising the body with 3/8" rubber shims. This gives plenty of room at the top of the trans. I'm going to see what other problems adding the shims causes before bolting all the connections.

Hey Moon,
Are you sure you want to use rubber shims. I thought I read somewhere on this forum that rubber shims may cause vibrations. Have you considered solid shims as a base maybe just 1/8 or 1/4 would be enough. Anyway I'm not an expert on that but congratulations on the body drop. This is a real milestone. Some photos of your progress would be great. Good luck.

I'm using rubber shims from a later C2. Hopefully there won't be any vibration. I thought the rubber would help rather than hurt. Also, I didn't know where to get solid shims.

If I knew how to post photos, I would. If I remember last time I tried it there was a size issue and I've yet to learn how to use a third party photo server.
