Hopefully I'm not opening a can of worms here. A 2000 Coupe w/auto trans exhaust mod and 2.72 gears.....what should be the launch rpm for a no bog 0-60 time?
Thanx in advance

Put your left foot on the brake. Give the car gas until you hit the stall speed on the torque converter (2200RPM???). When the wheels start spinning, you know that you have found where the stall speed is. Use a speed lower than that for launch. I would suggest 1500-1800 RPM. Release the brake as you roll into the gas, as just punching it to the floor can just result in wheelspin. Wheelspin sounds impressive, but it is slow. You will just have to practice a few times.

I powerbrake launch @ 1300 to 1400 RPM in my A4. I can't hold it back at any higher RPM.

Here's my best 1/4 time with the followign mods:

*3.42 rear axle ratio (still using factory TC and tires)
*Predator tune
*Z06 titanium mufflers
*Z06 airbox lid
*K&N drop-in OEM filter

thanks. I was in dis-beilef too. So I ran again and got a 12.97. That night - all the best conditions were there. Track prep was excellent, air temp was in the 60's. I was geting all the launch I could get out of stock runflats and a stock TC. That was in the fall of 2004.

Best I've done since was a 13.06 :cry

My track is at 2600' (DA is often as high as 6000ft). My Z06 will run mid 12's all day, and as low as 12.4 once in a while. But sub 13 seconds for a standard C5 is very good.
