Aloha to all of you!! I've noticed that my spark plugs are different shades when I remove them. The #8, #1, #2 plugs were a lot lighter in color (Brown) then the rest of the plugs, which I would guess means that they're running leaner then the other plugs, what could be causeing this to be?

I know you're probably looking more for a definitive cause of your own discoloration of the spark plugs, and I can't help you there, but if you want or need some information on the varying causes of spark plug fouling, and problems in general regarding inspection and maintenance of your plugs, NGK has some pretty good information. I'm not recommending NGK, I'm just saying they've got some good info. ;)

HI there,
It could be due to insufficient injector flow rates, creating, as you have surmised, a lean or rich condition.
I would say that an injector balance test would be your first course of action here.
This due to the fact that your injectors are fired all at once, for each side.

Now, remember the problems that I've been haveing? could this be one of the causes for the first time in the morning start ups that I'm haveing trouble with? The eratic idleing and sometimes quiting, untill the engine gets warmed up, then it runs fine after that.

Hi there,
While it is possible, the stalling I do not believe is one of them. Rough idle, first time start up when cold, erratic idle, all could be caused by injectors.
Just remember, a difference of 3psi will cause issues.
A Injector balance is best taken in kpa, or kilopascals, for accurate diagnosis.

Kalani, take a peek at our rules about signature images. Check out FAQs for information regarding signature and avatar sizing policies. Mutiple images in a signature are not permitted either, except as a collage.

Forum Tip of the Week: We ask that you please keep the size and number of signature pictures to a minimum. You are allowed to post ONLY one picture of your Corvette in your signature. Pictures are not allowed to exceed 468 x 300 pixels and 30 KB in size. Weather banners are not allowed. Please help us to keep the forums running quick for everyone. Thanks!

Most L98's have injector problems at about 100k. Mine started having bad hot start problems and rough idle. I swapped in FMS 24lbr's and it has been great. After its warm and you re-start it, does it crank for a while?

On a completely unrelated note, I went to Hawaii last year and loved it.:)

Snow sucks.

And thank you!
I occasionally monitor this site from home with a dialup that NEVER exceeds a 21kbps rate, and being able to load in a reasonable time is what really distinguishes this forum from "another" Corvette forum - but I won't name names!
