Important! radiator hoses

THANKS MY 00 C-5 COUPE HAS the factory WATER HOSES STILL ON VETTE They are not soft or mushy.. !but i think its time is due ... has anyone installed RED SILICONE HOSE kit.. plan to do thermostat, fresh anti freeze. I M a OLD HEAD , anyone drain anti freeze ,then put hot water & BORAX WASHING POWER in radiator run for 30 mins,drain ,refill w water 1 more time. OR till water comes out clear ?????
