I am planning on re-dying my dashpad and other interior items this coming weekend. Any feedback on prep of the pad, (i ordered ecklers prep item) but wondering if acetone or other items may work, good and bad info would be appreciated. Also, I opted for dye vs dash paint? Am I making the correct choice? I am keeping everything stock color, just freshing up the items. Also ecklers sells a clear coat for dash pads and recommends it for silvers? any experience with this?

I agree with Mike. Soap and water 3 or 4 times and use the prep spray. If the parts have any silicon on them the die wont stick. Amorol is a bear to get off, loaded with silicon

Don't know if it's safe for vinyl but Dupont's PrepSol removes silicone when prepping for paint.
