Ready for Carlisle

Hi Y'all,

I will be there with my brother and 4 of our freinds.
We're staying at the Holiday Inn on Rt11 by the Rt81 exit.
It's the one with the nightclub and party deck restaurant.
Anybody else here staying there?

I'll sleep in my car. HAHAHA..

Really, first time. Where should I stay. Some help here for a CANADIAN.
Cheers!
-Bill.

ALSO, what's the best route? From Toronto, Canada. And don't tell me to mapquest it. :D

Four right's, will get you there, directions for Smook

If you don't mind spending an extra half hour on the road, I can get you directly from Toronto to the Carlisle fairgrounds, with only four right turns.

Take the Trans Canada East to the 1000 islands bridge and make your first right turn on the 81 going South. Drive through NY into PA until you see the sign Carlisle next right for your second "righty". Then keep going into the town of Carlisle until you see a sign that says " Carlisle fairgrounds next right, for your third "righty", now all that is left once you have parked your vehicle is to make the last right turn at one of the three gates that will get you into the fairgrounds. :D

While on the subject of Carlisle, at my vender spaces I have access to a dolly, and also a load carrying golf cart, so if any CAC members need to move something around during the show, you are more then welcome to stop by ( I-101 ) and I will help out as best I can :upthumbs

Good luck from
Stepinwolf

It's good to see the enthusiasm for Corvettes at Carlisle so early in the year! I'm anxious to hear all of the solid axle cars revving their engines at NOON on Saturday Aug. 27, 2005! My father will feel the rumble without a doubt - life is good! :-)

Thank you for your support!

Lance

Hi, Lance - glad you dropped in to say hello! Look forward to seeing you again in August! I was in the VIP luncheon tent with you last year when the entire collection of open-exhaust racers fired up in the tent across the aisle last year at noon - and it lasted quite a bit longer than "a minute" - I'm sure your Dad heard it too :w

John Hinckley

John,

It will be louder this year, more Bigblocks in the Registry area between the tent and the grandstand.

Tom M

Tom & John-

Let's make sure my father FEELS the roar on Saturday!!! That was incredible last year & I certainly look forward to another great year - nothing better than a bundle of Corvettes revving their engines!

Thank you for your support.

Life is good,

Lance

Is anyone else going to Spring Carlisle also?

Tom M

p.s. Lance I am sure he is watching over and will hear it.

Tom,

will be at Spring Carlisle Sunday for sure, possibly Saturday, depending on the weather and whether I do car show here in Maryland

Going up to Spring Carlisle on Friday, 4-22. NOT looking for anything special, just catching the "ambience" :)

If I find a trinket or two, that'll be good. If I don't find anything, that'll be OK too. Chuck

Vintage

I've never been to Spring Carlisle, but come the end of Aug you will definately want to show up for Corvettes of Carlisle show.

Spring and Fall Carlisle are HUGE. The swap meet dwarf's the Corvette Carlisle event, which is HUGE in and of itself. I've never checked this, but SUPPOSEDLY if you walked up and down each row, in the lower field, the infield, and the North field, it's about 10 miles of walking. It's the largest meet you'll ever attend.

BUT, the Spring and Fall meet are "general" swap meets. You gotta fish through Studebaker and Hudson parts. Nothing is organized, i.e., the Corvette parts aren't ALL in one area, although the "J" row is historically known as Corvette Row.

It's worth going to. Tens of thousands of people will attend over the time of the meet. Saturday is a zoo. The traffic on the PA Turnpike will back up for miles. It's a "happening"...a "rite of Spring"....like going to Woodstock. :)

When I was younger, I could walk through Carlisle ONCE in a 7-8 hour day. Now that I'm older, I can't do that anymore. :) Chuck

For all my friends going to Carlisle, I'll be looking for an original master cylinder and a spare tire carrier for the 67. If you find one before me, let me know???

that's where Linda and I will be staying also.
We should do dinner one night.

We will, we will! Guess what? Tony called tonight and said Lil Darlin is ready!
Of course she is. Tomorrow, I have out of town family arriving for my son's wedding on Saturday (you met him at carlisle last year). Friday 9am, my daughter's final custody hearing for my grandson. Friday 4pm, check into downtown hotel for 6pm rehearsal and dinner. Saturday wedding at 5pm (I'm Best Man and father of the Groom). Sunday is wedding gift opening and brunch.
Arrgh!
Tony said he has carbs straightened out and he doesn't know what the previous owners did to the car, but it has a LOT of power. More than he said he's used to in a 400hp car (watch out Heaven, I'm ready). Cool:cool ..time to get:lou , so maybe Monday or Tuesday I can pick her up. Big grins when I do (except for the part where I write the check) .

Dennis

glad to hear your car is ready! forget all that unimportant family stuff, you need to realize what is truely important which means going to get your car!
;LOL ;LOL ;LOL

lot's of power?? maybe they made a cam change to it at some point. more power is a great thing! :beer
