If you change the rear end from the stock gear ratio to 3:73, does it affect the computer other than speedometer?

No, it'll just throw off the speedo

I believe you'll need to order new speedometer gears to fix the speedo. Should be 2 smaller nylon gears that mount near the trans. I had a trans specialist install the ones on my L98. Not sure if they still have them or not but I ordered mine a while back from Summit Racing for around $30
