Rear Hatch Weather Strip - Side trim removal?

First I went over it with plain paper towels.
Then went back over it with shop rags and GooOff or some sort of Goo Remover.
Actually didnt alter the painted surfaces at all. Apply to rag and wipe. Then wipe with clean shop towel.

My thoughts were, "if it messes up the finish, at least this is a part of the car that is not ever seen unless you are replacing the weather strip". But like I said, no damage.

Guess you have to really let that stuff sit a while for it to damage automotive paint/wax etc.

UPDATE:
Guess replacing that weatherstrip helped!

I took 2nd place in Wash N Show for the C4 division! Not bad in my books for my very first ever Car show.(me and the vette, our first)

Now to start on that Trophy Case! hahaha
