I replaced both t-arms, upgraded to adjustable strut rods with high quality hiem joints. gas shocks all around. I took the steel 9 leaf spring out to clean and paint while doing the t-arms. Now, with everything back together, I cannot get the spring eyes close to where I need them. I am 3 inches off.
The AIM, nor the service manual says that the shocks nor the strut rods need to be disconnected.
I have a 4x4 centered on my floor jack with the ends of the 4x4 just inside the spring eyes. The weight of the rear of the car is on the jack. Plus I placed an additional 230 lbs of gym weights into the rear luggage area. There is still an arch in the spring.
Am I overlooking something? I looked in the search but did not see anything.
Thanks for every ones input, including threadjackers.
