I'm about ready to finish the rear end rebuild and have been looking for an answer about the wiring harness clips in the rear. I looked in the AIM and it shows that the right side clip is attached to the inboard reverse light at the top, the 2nd one attaches to the screw/nut for the license plate light on the right side. However I can't figure out the left side, I currently have it on the inboard reverse light. Also what is the orientation? With the loop up? The loop is much larger than the wire bundle so is there any worry of rubbing? Thanks guys..

Thats a very timely question! I started pulling my 66 apart this weekend cause the painter said he had an opening.
When pulling the rear valance off I could tell the rear harnes clips where not in the correct place. The center was attached to the bolt that holds the license bezel.
I to have the same question as you. Also, so I can tell if I have the correct clips. Are they a loop style clip with what looks like plastic or rubber coating on the loop and the loop is flared on each side?

Gary, Yes the three clips are the loop style and have the rubber coating. I finally made a decision on the locations as best I could from the AIM. I don't know if this has just been trivial, no one has a comment or what... The AIM does show that the right clip is located on the top post of the inboard right light, the middle one is located on the left most screw of the license light assembly, the third is not really shown well in my AIM but it appears that it is located on the inboard left top post of the reverse light... Thanks man that means a lot to me coming from you as I've seen your work and I'm just trying to keep up..

I was having a bad time of it when I posted again above... I know if someone had the answer here would be the place to find it... Sometimes I like instant gratification and I know that it probably offends sometimes.. I'm sorry guys.... Dave....

Dave I agree with your answer. Thats the best I could tell as well. My AIM looks very cluttered and unclear on the left taillight to
