I live in the Atlanta, GA metro-area and require service to my 85 Vette. It has several after-market mods and I don't know where to take it or who to trust. I've upgraded the cam shaft, head work, performance chip, headers, msd, 52mm TB, forced air induction, Lingenfelter Super Ram Plenum Runner Kit with Super Ram Base intake. Recommendations based upon your own experience would be greatly appreciated. Taking it to the dealer is not an option I'd give a lot of consideration....thanks

Hi James!
welcome to the CAC.
I'm sure some local C4 guys (LEN??) will step in soon and help you out.

Hi Tamara!

Thanks for your response. I'll wait patiently for the right referral...

decided to re-post this in case it was missed by someone who could help...

Thanks Gang!!!!

Hi Len,

I live near Douglasville; not far from Six Flags, but am willing to travel to Conyers. Would greatly appreciate the name and number of the shop you use.

You Guys Rock!!!

Len,

More great info from CAC. I live in Buckhead and am looking for an alternative to the local Chevy Dealers at $85/hr.

Looking froward to your shop info.

Jeff

Hi Hot
I lived in Hot-lanta in the late 70´s. Back then I had ´63 Vette and a MB300D [no turbo]. My drive was so steep that the Mercedes would not get up the hill from a dead stop in drive. I had to back the darn thing in. Needless to say, the Vette with its Mech. fuel injection’s 365 HP had no problems with that hill.

We used to drink at a joint named Hemmingway’s and our favorite restaurant was the Lark and the Dove. I don’t suppose those places are still around.
One night after more than enough Bud sodas Greg Taylor and I waxed Ted Turner and his silly Porsche all the way down Peachtree to the I-95, but that was before he went Hollywood. :eyerole

The Stingray did not have ABS or Traction control. On the way home that night I hit a wet spot, spun the $!%@# and broke both wheels on the drivers side when it hit the curb. :duh
Those were good days. Lots of great memories from Atlanta. Do the girls from Bell and Delta still fancy guys in Vetts?
:love

SpanishVette,

It's ironic you mention Ted Turner; I'm employed at CNN. As for the Bell and Delta Girls, haven't met a woman who doesn't swoon over a Vette. Len's right about Buckhead being the "spot" these days. I moved here 3 years ago from Tampa, but don't get out much. I was concerned about my driveway being too steep to drive the Vette up it, but thank goodness there's enough clearance--very close though.

Len, looking forward to receiving your info. Would like very much to meet you. My Vette will have to be towed to the shop since it will not start. Thanks a bunch for your help!

James

CAC Rocks! Thanks Len!!!! The location you recommended to service my 85 Vette was just what the doctor ordered. Had it towed to them New Year's Eve and they started work on it immediately. Picked my Baby up last night and she absolutely rockets!!!! Sitting here with a huge smile on my face!!!!!! I usually drive it only on weekends, but could not resist driving her to work this morning....

Hey Atlanta Friends - I do most of the work on my car myself, but the few times I have had work done I have used Dave's Corvettes in the same building as The Last Detail. Shop is at the intersection of I-285 and LaVista Road in NE Atlanta. Phone number is: 770-934-7011. He lets me in the shop to watch over work if I want. Shop is a little disorganized but I live with it. He will negotiate with me on prices.

Some folks at the Corvette Club I am in think Days Chevrolet in Acworth and Bill Heard Chevrolet in N. Atlanta do acceptable work.

Another posibility is Corvette Palace, Bob Dukas 770-948-2623

I have not used the dealers or Corvette Palace, (yet)

Good luck Bob WHite
