Hello to all,

I've searched through the forums and the owner's manual and haven't been able to find an answer to this question. The driver's side door on my C5 has a Bose speaker cover that I'd like to remove and clean. My brother in law wanted to take a screwdriver to it, but I'd rather get an answer from some of your pros.

Has anyone tried and been successful in removing the door speaker cover? Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

First off, i want to welcome you to CAC! :w This is the friendliest Corvette Forum around with more than our share of VERY knowledgeable people.

Ok, don't take this as gospel, but I'm thinking the entire door panel has to come off to remove the grill. I believe that it has nuts on the back side of the grill holding it to the panel. If I'm wrong (which is entirely possible :D ), someone will be along shortly to correct me.

Removing speaker grill

I just painted mine two days ago. You must remove door panel to access tabs on speaker grills. Check on line for video to remove panels. Company named SEM sells paint gm number 149b is perfect match.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll check that out.

Glad I didn't let my gorilla brother in law try the screwdriver!
