The second previous owner of my '95 coupe apparently had some kind of early mobile phone or cell phone in the car. The antenna is one of those through-the-glass units near the roofline of the rear hatch.

I have unscrewed the antenna itself, but not sure how to remove the mounting. It looks glued on both sides of the glass.

Being concerned about doing damage to the hatch, I thought I would consult the experts! How do I get this thing off properly?

Thanks, Bob

You can take plastic putty knife in pry it off then clean with a good glass cleaner. I have had to do that to 2 of my cars.

I moved this to General Restoration forum Bob, in hopes that someone with experience from another generation may be able to help. :CAC

Thanks for asking!

I am sorry to say that I haven't gotten to it yet! Now, we are not snowbound here at the NC Coast, nor has the weather been that bad, BUT between my job and the weather there hasn't been a good day yet.

The Vette has been out plenty of times, and I just had new tires put on, so she has gotten plenty of attention.

Soon!

Bob

Just checking! Let us know, when the spring thaw comes ... :D

Well, it thawed here a long time ago, but when you live down here too long your blood begins to thin and even 55 is cold!

Anyhow, did it today (59). Heat and plastic putty knife worked great, cleaned up with some Goof Off Goo Remover.

Thanks all!

Bob
