C3-coupe/MercedesBenz-540K replica! Racing-SB-V8!
-Wondering if anyone knows of someone offering the many various year FACTORY Repair-manual (full detailed R&R info. including Electrical-schematic diagrams), and FACTORY Assembly-manual (showing wonderful exploded-views or all various components from alternator to zinger); --whereby you can then just place it in your PC's/CD-drive, go to the page you need to study and even print the page for on-the-job reference. Such a CD should sell for only $9.95 and would ideally cover all C3's for example! Am myself presently interested in the above manuals for a 1980/C3-vette in particular... The purchase of Factory/hard-copy manuals is rather costly, so anyone please advise if knowing of any such simple above item available, --or if any entrepreneur plans to create such a fabulous set of CD's for fun & profit; or if you indeed have a spare set of '80/C3-manual(s) to sell me straight away.... B.B.

$9.95......wake up, you are dreaming!

-hey pal, why take-up space with vacuous neg.-remarks; --a CD blank is 50-cents and to mold in volume is $2.oo from a master-die, or for low-production burning by a lazer-facility is $5.oo; --so an enterprising person can come out profitably at $9.95(+ 37-cents mailing) via a high-profile website like this'en....
(but you can pay $19.95 if you insist)... B.B. :SLAP

Of course, whoever makes them certainly wouldn't need to be paid for the time, effort, and equipment required to scan and organize thousands of pages from all the Shop Manuals and Assembly Manuals, or to cover the duplication licensing fees they'd have pay to GM for all that copyrighted material :eyerole

Those things show up on eBay occasionally, but they're unlicensed counterfeit; the legal ones cost more :beer

-Geeezzz, you guys are really something, negativity run rampant; ---does one have to give a lecture on economics-101... Yes, one would doubtlessly have to scan the manuals (or perhaps just duplicate from an Authorized/Chevy-dealer's CD-library); -and I am thinking that if it were offered though a venue like this website on a donation-basis, --then GM would probably care less (keeps their old Corvettes in better repair, and they sell parts, -right?) But if say 5,000-cd's were distributed at just $5-profit each (past one's unit cost), that's obviously $25k to the good (I never said you could retire in Bermuda on the earnings)!!!
Therefore, instead of being like this- :z
-an entrepreneur needs to be like this- :J
---Get It? -B.B.

I don't think it is being negative, it is being real. I have seen this offered from a number of Corvette catalogs and the cost is much more than what you are thinking. They charge what the market will pay, not what "you" think would be fair. If you find something like this in the price range you are thinking (and it is legal) for a C2 I would jump on it in a heartbeat. Go look at some of the people that are selling these and get a real price, you will be surprised.

Or do what I did, pay the price for the manuals and books, scan em, turn them into PDF's and put em on the shop cd's

Great for quick handy reference, as to the comment of selling them, would never do it. Its nice to have the original paper to go with the digital version.

Hello BillyBob: -Good Man (you are a shining example for the nay-sayers among us); -now if I get a reply from someone who has made (or has access to dealer cd) a cd from the 1980 Repair-manual/Assembly-manual, --whom I could pay to copy me a cd therefrom, --that would be super! Would you similarly provide a copy of your '75/C3's-cd (if so how much)? -BerlinaBob

Trivial as it may seem in your grand scheme of things, that's illegal (which is why it costs more to get the legal ones). :grinsanta

HEY JOHNNIE: -we're not talking about some great literary-work of creative-art here, --its just a mundane nut&bolt-procedure authored by a corporate entity named "GM"(generous mothers); -so don't get your wig-twisted out of reality [although technically speaking, -you are correct!]... -B.B.
:argue :( :eek :Buttslap :L

Vette/Berlina-coupe,

I do understand what you are trying to do here, but I dont wish to violate any laws other then smog, speeding and perhaps NCRS standards :L

I have on more then one occasion made available certain sections to individuals requiring more then just hand written information to restore their baby.

But as my cd's (6 of them) contain not just service manuals (scaned from paper) but books such as Rochester Carburetors, Automotive Paint handbook, how to rebuild your small block chevy etc. These would land me in the klink for mass postings or selling them.

It take on average about 4 hours to prepare a publication of roughly 200 pages, this includes the scanning, cleanup, indexing and PDF conversion, but is well worth the effort when you need to do a quick search in the garage for specific information.

Keep looking you'll eventuall find what you are looking for. I had similarly posted a link to a site that contained the microfiche for GM parts after someone wanted to know if it was a good buy on ebay.

hi billybob: -I'm cool with that; --and along that line, that's a "really cool" shot of you indeed there in your blitz-machine... B.B.

The manuals are available on CD for 1972 and earlier. Check out Cars&Parts Corvette magazine. But they are about $50.

You all better check the copyright laws and the internet commerce laws before you go advertising that you are selling bootleg CDs! Advertising such activity definitely WILL get you busted these days!
