I would appreciate opinions if you have them !! I have the M92 smoked glass t-tops and they are in nice shape, not perfect. The driver's side has seperated from the frame and I can get that repaired for about $275. I have been looking at brand new replacement tops (pair) through Astro for $550. My car is a May to October nice day driver, garaged all winter, and I am restoring it with mini-projects each winter. It is a long term keeper. I am not stuck on replacing with OEM parts only, but I do want quality replacement parts. I would love to hear from you! Thanx !! John

:w John,

For what it's worth here is my opinion ;)

I would find a nice used set of solid "T-Tops" off Ebay or salvage yard, get them painted to match. Then you would have the option to fix and repair the original tops or keep your eyes open for suitable replacements, be they new or used glass tops.

I've had both and I prefer the solid. They provide a much cooler interior and they aren't so apt to get broken or stolen. The down side is less head room and of course the obvious ... (you can't see thru them) :eek

If you can get the original fixed for $275, I would. I hear the astro top has to be permanently installed (with sealer in between) or it will leak. A quality new set of glass mirrored tops will set you back at least $1000. Rare81's suggestion of solid tops is a great one, if you aren't too tall. Hope this helps.

I have a set of mirrored for $600+sh. Barely used, i like the stock ones better. Im leaving on vacation tommrow however. If you email me, ill be back next week.

Is the glass broken on your driversside top or not? A few years ago my driversside mirrored glas top began to tear lose from the topframe on the highway! :W Stopped the vette and the glas wasn't broken but half lose from the frame. Orderd some good black bonding kit and fixed it myself. Worked great!

Groeten Peter.
