i was wondering, how do you remove the hydraulics that hold the hatch up? i am in the process of replacing my interior and am stuck because i cant figure out how to get them off.. anyone know?? ;shrug

It's a piece o' cake, just be sure to support the hatch when you pull one of the units; it's heavy (and expensive). ;)

If you look closely at the rods where they attach to the body and at the hatch glass, you will see some clips holding them in place. The clips are semi-circular, and attach to the pivot points for the rods. If I remember correctly, you have to pop them off by prying the half-circle side off, then you can remove the clip. After that it's a simple, matter of removing the rods.

I know -- I realized as I was typing this that is about as clear as mud, eh? :L Go ahead, give it a try; take a look and you'll see them. ;)

i cant believe i didnt see them :duh thanks ken

On the end that goes to the hatch itself just untwist them, they will unscrew off the hatch. The end on the car you use a wrench and undo it that way. You have to remove the trim around the hatch to get at it. Also you need to remove courtesy lights on eith side as there is a hidden screw in each. Best thing is to do one at a time as the other will give you some support, else the hatch is kinda heavy.

i did as both of you said, but on the courtesy light after i take the black piece off, there is a white piece with a light in it, where is the screw?

Behind the white piece towards the back....most times they trim piece is broke where it was removed before they knew about the screw...
