replacing rear spring,do i peen cup washer

do i peen the cup washers to the new spring and the trailing arm? the pictures show how it was installed and they look like they are peened into the holes. HELP PLEASE
 
I roll the cups over. I have a setup I made to peen the end over nice. same with the spring.
 
I peened mine. It's probably a production assembly aid but I did it anyway.

Same here. A little neater than banging on em with a hammer.
Used a couple sockets, one with a bevel that fit inside the cup, and a long bolt, washers, and a nut. Tighten the nut onto the bolt and it pulls the beveled socket into the cup.
Unfortunately, the beveled socket is an old oil pressure fitting socket that might not be in most tool boxes.

here's my setup. the one socket JUST fits inside the trailing arm...

Thanks guys.. i think I will try to make me a little tool to mash it in there. appreciate the info.
