Rev up the search engine: Collector seeks car's 'ancestry'

The bright yellow Corvette must have been quite a sight — and sound — as it rumbled around the Cherry Hill area in the 1970s.
Now, a Midwestern car collector is looking for someone who remembers the vehicle — and who can identify its former owner.
“This is not just a used Corvette,” says Michael Wiater, a Michigan surgeon who considers the 1969 sports car to be the prize of his six-vehicle collection.
Wiater describes the car that once prowled South Jersey streets as a very loud and very rare L88 Corvette , a racing model made in limited numbers from 1967 to 1969.
