hello everyone,i have some damage to the rear of my right side lower rocker panel.passenger side right before the back tire.busted glass:mad i would rather replace the whole panel than have patch work done,is it easy to change?doesnt look to hard.but you never know.im having my nose repainted also.the nose of the car looks a little more difficult, lights and all.but it must come off in order to properly prep and paint and bake it.my good friend works at a body shop, which means i will also be helping, to cut costs.im sure i can find a rocker panel at contemporary corvette or one of the others, thanks in advance for any advise, later,Todd.

I think you have to cut it off.
I've seen this discussed before but have not done it myself.

Hi there,
The rocker sill would have to be cut off the car, and a new one rebonded onto the frame. It is time consuming, and difficult, if the fit is NOT just perfect.
Then, it would have to be painted and blended.

thanks for the replys, another question for c4/c5 spec.do you have an exploded view of the front bumper cover with lights and fasteners?i quess i should probably bye a manual.i dont know if the manuals cover body repair.thanks,Todd.

Hi there,
There are many pics in the C5 bumper removal.
Too many pics to post here.
C5 service manuals cover every aspect of service on c5, so it would be worth the investment.

If you go to a shop that specializes in vettes than you'll never know the repair was made. I wasn't paying attention and ran over a concrete parking lot divider only a few months into ownership. A buddy who I trust sent me to a shop that does work for the local Mercedes Benz dealer and is also know for his work on Vettes, Prosches, etc. I asked about replacing the whole rocker panel and he said he would do it if I wanted, but said it would be a waste of money. He patched and painted it and $389 later I was happy again. I challenge anyone to tell me where the repair was made.

het Ralph,
thanks, thats what i recently decided to do.the damage is minor,i am having the nose re-painted,get them both done and i will be happy again, later,Todd.
