O.K. all, I have pretty much exhausted all the known online databases I can find and have yet been unable to determine how many of the 2,630 '93s with the G92 performance axle ration were order as Ruby's as well ? Some say the G92 is nothing but it goes with the G44 3.07 rear gear ratio which makes a BIG off the line difference (trust me, my father has a Ruby as well with a perfomance chip, K&N and intake airfoil and he wishes he had my rear axle !!) It will not just throw you back into the seat but through the damn seat LOL...lots of fun and I would love to find out how rare of an option it was in the Ruby's so if you've got it list the production number of you Ruby so we can start to get an idea.
Thanks all,
Tony B.

Kind of what I thought..

Wow, lots of people looking but no responses yet, kind of what I thought and was sort of hoping for...he he LOL.

Tony

...I have 3.45's in my Ruby 93 :upthumbs

well I didn't know that.... I have an automatic and at some point in the near future I plan on a rear end change.... then again with the gas prices.... maybe not....

No worries

LOL don't worry about the mileage difference, maybe 1 or 2 mpg at the most difference but just in the city driving...on the highway my dad and I get almost identical fuel mileage... :^)

Tony

My Ruby with 3:45's gets around 26 on the Highway and my 91 with 4:10's gets around 22. I lost about 4 MPG in the conversion... (There both ZR1's)

RPO Codes

I have the RPO codes G44, G92. This my first vette. I did notice that I have to be careful when accelerating from a stop not to spin the tires. Never thought about the trans first gear and 3.07 rear end:D . I have had the vette a month now. I am still developing a technic to drive in a fuel efficint manner. My mileage will get better I hope

My A4 1994 Z07 has these options as well. G92 is the "Performance Axle Ratio" which I believe then looks to which one (ie G44 in this case) which put in the 3.07 ratio. I don't know if any other ratios were available for the automatic cars.

PERFORMANCE AXLE???

MYoption codes and desc. read as follows
GU2 2.73 RATIO AXLE
G92 PERF RATIO AXLE (these 2 codes are beside each other on the build sheet)
Does this mean they consider a 2.73 ratio to be performance I didn't think they came much taller than 2.73.

It would appear so. The standard ratio for automatic transmission was 2.59 so 2.73 would be a little taller ratio, and thus they must consider it a "Perf ratio".
