i am interested in buying 67 corvette on ebay. i have vin. where can i check out this number?

If you don't have the references to decode it (and most people don't), post all the numbers and codes on the trim tag and the VIN here and we can decode it for you. If you have the numbers from the engine, post those too.

vin 194377s102341 trim tag c26 67 437 std so625 977aa also trying to find out by vin if car came with bb hood from factory. thanks for your help.

Trying to get them from seller on ebay. Having a hard time. Says he doesn't know them or he's hiding something.

Paint Code 977aa = Lyndale Blue
Interior trim Code os625 = Does not compute - see below
Vin indicates Oct. 13, 1966 Final assembly

Vin # breaks down like this ( i think)

194377S102341

1 = Chevrolet
9 = Corvette
437 = Coupe
7 = 1967 model year
S = St. Louis assmbly Plant
1 = nothing, a space holder
02341 = your cars serial number

C 26 = October 26, 1966

STD = non leather interior - black vinyl

S 0625 = St Louis Body, number 625

Hope this helps, but based on when yours was built, i would have to say it definitely came with the small block hood.

Don

Your local police may be willing to tell you if it was stolen or not. But only if seller is in the same state as you.

E-bay is like a box of chocolate, you never know what you'll GET.

The body was built at St. Louis on October 26 (first day back after the 3-week strike that isn't reflected in the "Birthday Book"), and it came off the line on October 27th. The only way it came with a big-block hood is if it was originally a big-block; the very few small-block cars that are alleged to have come with big-block hoods (with no stinger stripes and no numbers on them) were supposed to have been built in late February, and none have ever been documented.

Need the block casting number, casting date, and front stamp pad numbers to determine what it is, and if it's legit.

Thanks Don. The car is in Arizona. The guy is trying to sell original black on black 67. I guess not by the paint code. Thanks again. Jim

Thanks John. The guy is trying to sell original black on black 67. I guess not by the paint code. Just trying to find a nice 67. Thanks again.

John,
Good call on the final assembly date. I forgot about the strike.

When you get older the second thing to go is the memory

Hey, I know....

Its an all original, number matching 67 Grand Sport with a multiport fuel injected dual overhead cam, 5 valve, all brass, big block 409 & 9 speed transmission (VERY RARE), and hooker chrome headers and fenton mag wheels and a Sony CD player.....
WOW !!!!
What a find

And its for sale very reasonably priced....

The owner bought it at the Barret-Jackson Aution yesterday so it has to be bona fide

;LOL

I merged these two threads since they are about the same car.

Yup, I'm old too, but I prioritize which groups of memory cells I protect over the others (wife's birthday, anniversary, Corvette stuff, then everything else) :D
