seat gear stripped?

it was working find but as a new driver to this car i ran it all the way back..ok
now it wont go forward and makes a sound as if the gear is stripped..
is this the case?..
all the tilt stuff still works fine and its getting power to the gear but it slips

Probably a good diagnosis. Check Keen for a rebuilt unit or Zip, they were a little cheaper but had the Keen rebuilt units. Weird.

My seat did the same thing. You'll have to send yours in as a core. I was lucky as Zip is down the road from me.

so what you are saying is that..i cannnot replace the gear
i need to replace the unit...i assume its under the seat...hey..you never know ..
so it's pull the seat cushion and look for a unit ..ok ..i can do that..
and ill check ZIP...thanx

My passenger side as been janky since I bought it and a few months ago I ran it all the way forward to clean behind it and now its stuck there. But I don't sit on that side so its not a major priority to me right now. :L The new ones are pretty pricey when I looked them up.

Its actually the entire seat track. You unbolt the seat portion from it, 4 bolts and take the entire track or send for the exchange. Its about $200 at zip when I bought mine a couple of months ago and Keen is the best in the business. Check both for pricing though to get the best rate, including shipping, obviously if you have to go that route.

My driver seat did the same thing, all the way forward then, nothing. Mine was partly the switch, partly the transmission.

I think you have to tell Keen what size the plug or some sort of a gear is. Call them and find out to be sure!

i roll with seat all the way back anyway
and for 200 beans ill just call it ok...lol
