I am selling my 1988 35th anniversary with 24,000 miles. It is totally original (except for new tires - the originals were cracking a bit), and is like new. Not a blemish, not a scratch. It is really hard to look up the "book" value due to the age of the car, plus it is somewhat unique. What do you think is a realistic price? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!:)

I've seen them usually in the low to mid teens. With so few miles on yours, I would ask for something in the mid-upper teen area.

I'm considering selling mine. I have many more miles than you and I've replaced some things. But I want something '96 and later.

Edmond, thanks very much for your opinion on this! We'll see if anyone else weighs in....

Is it an Auto or Manual ?

I just looked on Auto Trader and the 35th's get a pretty nice premium over the standard '88's out there.

It's an auto, with both tops. I haven't seen too many manual transmission 35ths - I did see one for sale at last year's Bloomington Gold in St. Charles. I think the asking price was around $18,900, but it was not really all that nice. I am thinking of something around $15,500 or so. What do you think?

I think that you can ask for that, probably even a little more. But keep in mind that the $15.5K would be a starting point. I don't think there are too many people that would just pay what you ask!:L:L:L Of course, there are going to be the people who will try to low ball you. But I wouldn't worry about them.

I've seen one around my area where the guy still had the plastic on the passenger seat, decals taken off and the car was a very weird white. It was like the paint was hardly exposed to any sunlight at all. Kind of made me wonder why someone would have a car and not drive it.

There was a similar car listed on ebay a couple of times. That person wanted about 16k for his. I don't remember if the car finally sold or not. I remember looking at it a couple of times online and thinking it was a great price for a 35th, but I ended up getting something else.

Your car sounds very nice. Something more inline for a collector or show car person. It should not become a daily driver. I sold my 88 convertible this spring for $14,000. It was an ultra clean car, show winner in excelent mechanical condition with 48,000 miles. The buyer wanted something he did not have to work on and was willing to pay for it. I had the car for sale since last spring. Signs in the windows at car shows and things like that. Depending on how much of a hurry you are in put it on http://www.usedcorvettesforsale.com/ or http://www.collectorcartraderonline.com/ or http://www.cars.com/go/index.jsp;jsessionid=GIFUJ0HVRNY2NLAZGJ0U2VI?aff=nationalIt needs exposure to someone who is looking for a specific car like yours.

The 35th is a great looking Vette. These cars are beginning to move up in price and are starting to command a stiff premium over any 88 excluding the Callaways. There have been some brokers trying to push these prices for an exceptional clean low mileage car in the low 20's. Although I own one im not sure someone would write the check for it today. Two years back I had an offer for 21k on mine off the street. The guy seemed serious and was qualified with big $$$$ but I had no interest in parting with mine(mine has 29k on it now). In any kind of sales you can always come down but you cant go up. I would start high and work your way down depending upon how soon you need the money. Remember this is the lowest production of any anniv Vette built by the bowtie boys.

Also, people really have to see your car.Whenever I am at a show I pop the roof off, put the windows down and people are always checking out the white wonder!!! With its low production this is possibly one of the more valuable C4's even though its just cosmetics. Good luck in selling and aim high first. Just my 2 cents

Anthony :w

Thanks to everyone who has replied to my post - your input has been VERY helpful. I want to price the car reasonably, but I don't want to give it away. As you know, I will probably list the car online in the mid-to-upper teens, with pictures, and see what type of response I get. I will let you all know what kind of luck I have. Thanks again!!

May I ask why you're selling?

I'm going to list mine very soon. It needs some work but there aren't any major issues with it. However, the car does have 102K on the clock but they've been fun miles that brought me plenty of :D

Edmond, I'm looking for a C-5 to go with my 1996 LT1. The 35th a great car, but the C-5 is easier for my wife to get in and out of and drive. I like the softer ride of my 96, so I plan to keep that for now. Sounds like I'm getting soft, doesn't it!

Yeah, you're getting soft!:L

I'm selling because I want something more powerful. I want something with a manual transmission and something with OBDII. And I want something in a C4 form so that just about narrows it down to LT4 for me.

Hopefully, it will happen by the end of the summer.

I personally love the cockpit feel of the C4 and I also like feeling all the bumps in the road. It's like I'm experiencing the road.:D
