Several TV programs set to feature National Corvette Museum, sinkhole

The National Corvette Museum’s name has been all over television the past few days and will continue to be in the coming weeks.
The NCM Motorsports Park, NCM sinkhole and other Corvette events will be featured on NBC Sports, The Weather Channel and the Velocity Channel. The Motorsports Park was featured on “Power Nation: Engine Power” on CBS Sports on Saturday and on Spike TV on Sunday.
“Corvette Nation,” which airs on the Velocity Channel, filmed a few episodes at the museum in March, the month following the sinkhole collapse in the Skydome, said Katie Frassinelli, marketing and communications manager for the NCM.
The Weather Channel’s “Secrets of the Earth” filmed at the museum in June, and “Engine Power” filmed an episode in August. “Engine Power” airs at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday on NBCS Sports, according to a news release from the NCM.
Frassinelli said the sinkhole and the recently opened Motorsports Park has drawn a lot of interest from the public, and that makes the museum a hot topic for television. This is the first time the NCM has had three different programs filming and airing episodes in this short of a time frame – “Corvette Nation” aired its first episode Saturday and will air more episodes throughout the season, and “Secrets of the Earth” airs Nov. 10.
